Risë
Risë is my keeper from the 2020 litter out of Blue and Rietsu. I knew I wanted to keep a girl, but there were three lovely girls to choose from. After agonizing over it for many weeks, I finally decided on the "little" girl in the yellow collar. Although she was born the smallest puppy of the bunch, she has since grown to be the biggest of the three girls. Tall, leggy, with a dramatic outline and those striking stripes, Risë can't help but attract attention no matter where she goes. She reminds me so much of her mother (as do the rest of her siblings - Rietsu really did a copy/paste of herself in so many ways), from her captivating yellow eyes to her silly mannerisms like asking for scritches on the very tip of her butt like a cat. Risë is a master of being meek and mischievous at the same time.
Risë is following in the athletic footsteps of her mother and father in her first full year of running, and I look forward to many more years of field sport with her. She began her sprint racing career in the spring of 2022 and has run undefeated ever since, finishing her Gazehound Racing Championship in April 2023 and ranked #1 Magyar Agar for 2022. She also made quick work of her lure coursing championship, finishing her UKC Mixed Coursing Champion title and earning a Best in Field award in just her very first season competing. She is also proven on live game with multiple hares in the bag already (solo and with company), She is also a UKC bench champion, and even though dog shows are her least favorite activity she has ranked in the UKC Top Ten in 2022 and 2023.
At home, Risë is my snuggly noodle girl who loves to cuddle under the covers and sunbathe out on the patio (when she isn't busy chasing the squirrels away from the yard). She has the same deep, baritone voice of her grandma Patti, which she loves to greet me with when she's happy or feeling playful.
