"Bonnie"

Picture
DOB: 3/30/2019
Pedigree
Breeder: Audrey Hsia

Bonnie is my keeper puppy from my very first litter of Greyhounds, out of Dagny. Her sire, Seymor, was an American racing Greyhound that I greatly admired for his longevity, durability, and racing prowess. The litter was small (only two puppies), so Bonnie has been rather spoiled right from the start. She has all the spunk and bossy nature of her mother, but she's also very playful and affectionate towards those she considers friends and family.

Although competition is few and far between, Bonnie has done very well running in amateur racing and lure coursing. She is chipping away at her sprint racing and lure coursing titles, and hopefully some day she will be able to earn degrees in both. If not, that's okay, she has a lot of fun participating and that's all we care about.

Before she ever went racing, Bonnie was a quick study on hare coursing. She ran her first jackrabbit at the tender age of 6 months and has been involved in several successful catches in her short life. She seems to have the exact combination of speed and endurance that I was hoping to achieve with this breeding, and she should continue to improve over time.

Bonnie also dabbles in nosework (an activity that we picked up during the COVID lockdown), and has shown considerable aptitude for it in spite of having me as her handler. We are certainly not trial-ready, but perhaps it might be something to consider in the future.
