UWP OG's Golden Beryl (Beryl)

Beryl is a miniature Rat Terrier and is believed to be a long lost relative of Opal's (although we're not sure exactly how they're related). She was adopted from the same animal shelter that Opal came from, and ever since we brought her home she and Opal have been inseperable. They love to wrestle and toss their toys around together, and also enjoy grooming one another at the end of the day. They have also managed to get into trouble together on occasion.

Even though she didn't take to the lure as quickly as Opal did, Beryl has blossomed into a very dedicated racer. Her short, stubby legs often put her at a disadvantage, but that doesn't prevent her from finishing her runs with strength and determination. Lure coursing is a bit more of a challenge because she tends to want to cheat if she feels like she's too far behind. Nevertheless, Beryl is definitely a sight to behold on the field!

After Gil came to join our family, Beryl quickly became his nursemaid/play buddy. One of their favorite games is to play tag in the yard. It's usually good fun but sometimes little Beryl ends up taking a tumble, in which case she is quick to offer correction. She may be small but she's not afraid to put him, or anyone else, in their place if necessary! If she weren't so short-statured we think she'd be the alpha bitch. When she's not out running or playing her favorite activity is foraging for dried fruit and berries in the yard. At the end of the day though, Beryl loves to cuddle up on a good, warm lap to catch a few Z's. She also has an adorable habit of making little grunting noises when she is happy.
